“Lean and Agile Middle East Summit 2017” was held on March 18, 2017, at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort, Dubai UAE. It was 3rd annual Summit in a row, organized by “Lean and Agile Middle East” and Heriot-Watt University.

Summit was a one-day event packed with information and learning from global thought leaders. Speakers in the Summit came from USA, Europe, Africa, and Asia; as well as Agile leaders based in the region also participated in contributing their regional and global perspectives. The Summit was attended by 125 agile enthusiasts, mostly from the GCC region. The increasing number of attendees shows the direction of industry and professionals. It also depicts the promise Agile is delivering in the Middle East.

The Summit started with a brief introduction by Mirza Asfaar Baig on behalf of Lean and Agile ME and Dr. Mohamed Salama on behalf of Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus. The first keynote was delivered by Dave Snowden, a widely-cited, award-winning author of Cynefin Framework. It was followed by keynotes from Hendrik Esser and Dr. Khaled A. Hamdy. Summit was then conducted in three parallel tracks covering diverse topics: Large Scale Agile Transformation, product ownership, Agile success stories and case studies, Artificial Intelligence, Complexity and Contexts, Behavior Driven Development, Principles of Agile Enterprise, Lean games, User stories and ERP deployment using Agile practices.
